Double-Headed Eagle It is carved on the inner side of the east sphinx. Eagle is shown grabbing two rabbits with its talons. It is possibly one of the oldest known representations of a double-headed eagle, a motif which has been used by Hittites commonly in other sites. Large photo: Stephen Eric Wood
