Stele of Muwizi

The stele was found in 2017 in the Pınarbaşı district of the city of Kahramanmaraş during a road construction. The basalt stele is 127 cm in height and 40 cm in width. The tenon that it once had at the bottom is broken. On the flat front face is the relief of a man with a drawn bow, wearing a short tunic with sword on the belt and pointy shoes. Its rounded back side has a 7-line Hieroglyphic Luwian inscription which names the author as Muwizi, son of Larama, grandson of Muwatalli, great-grandson of Astuwaramanza. It dates to the second half of the 10th century BCE. Currently in the Kahramanmaraş Museum.
