Inscribed statue

The small basalt statue was purchased by Otto Puchstein in 1893 in Maraş, and today it is in the Vorderasiatsches Museum in Berlin. It shows a person with a long tunic, although the head section is broken. In its present form, the statue is about 20 cm in height and 15 cm in width. The four-line Hieroglyphic Luwian inscription (MARAŞ 3) is written boustrophedon and is about offerings to the Storm God Tarhunza.
