Funerary Steles
Several other stelae and votive stone bases have been discovered in the Yunus necropolis. Approximately 30 such "votive bases" have been recorded—primarily at Yunus, with a few examples from Karkam??. The rectangular central hole likely functioned as a mortise hole for mounting funerary stelae, though no stelae have been found in situ atop these bases. The round cup marks may have served a ritual purpose, possibly for offerings.
