Mythological scene

The relief shows an execution scene that has been interpreted as a depiction from the mythological story of Gilgamesh, where Gilgamesh and Enkidu kill the Guardian of the Cedar Forest named Humbaba. The limestone relief is about 1.22 m in height and 1.45 m in width and has been dated to the 10th century BCE. It is on display in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara.
