Sun and Moon Gods

The limestone orthostat, the so-called "Great Lion Slab," was located to the right of the Great Staircase. It is dated to 950-850 BCE. The Sun and Moon gods, who are identified by hieroglyphic labels next to them, are shown standing on a lion. It is on display at the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara.
